Ethan Nasuti-Leech

GRADUATE ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

Biography

Ethan graduated from a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering in 2021, post the completion of an Advanced Diploma. Throughout his degree he undertook several internships in various industries including motorsport parts manufacturing and naval engineering, as well as with Conflux during his final year.

At Conflux

Ethan started with Conflux as an intern during his final year of university, trialling the various engineering roles within Conflux before joining full time within the additive manufacturing team. As part of this team he has a hand in all stages of the additive workflow including job preparation, machine preparation, postprocessing, and maintenance, as well as contributing to the development of novel LPBF parameter sets and other research projects. He is responsible for the continued development of Conflux’s proprietary CT data analysis package which he commenced working on for his final year honours project. This includes management of large data sets and using image analysis and machine learning techniques for automated defect detection.

"Our Conflux Quantify® software provides quantified analysis of large CT data sets by scanning entire heat exchanges or a series of parts. The data gathered from the CT scanning is a series of images that represent X-Y slices of the scanned part. These data sets are necessarily extremely large due to the required resolution, making manual analysis impossible"
